After a long night of anticipation and waiting, Lil Yachty and his live band were prepared to take the stage. The all-woman band, the Silver Sisters came on first, and the onstage screen warned concert-goers with epilepsy that this show would have strobes galore.
The set began with a track off the new album Let’s Start Here, where Lil Yachty began his experiment with psychedelic rock. The audience sang along to every word of “drive ME crazy!” as if their lives depended on it. Despite his background in hip-hop and trap, it was clear fans were not against the young artist trying out a new style that had some groove and funk to it.
Before continuing on to “The Ride,” Yachty took the time to welcome the audience and introduce each band member. The show continued on as smoke and strobe lights illuminated the stage with dreamy shadows.
The band then continued on to “pRETTy,” a track that does not hold back on its message of self-love and sexuality. As the band played out, fans could be heard screaming “YACHTY I LOVE YOU!”
