After a long time away from touring the U.S., the Australian psychedelic rock band Pond has finally returned to San Diego, and to a crowd larger and even more excited than years before.

Known for his flamboyant and artistic dancing onstage, lead singer Nick Allbrook took the stage by storm like a madman. As the band opened up with “Daisy” off their album Tasmania, Nick could be seen twisting, wri, and jumping around in a way that looked both loose and choreographed. The fans were in love.

The show continued with “America’s Cup” and their new song “Stung.” The excitement exploded when Nick jumped off stage to make contact with fans over the pit barricade. Energy levels were high on both ends and the band didn’t miss a beat. Nick was happy to announce to the crowd that this was bigger than most any Australian crowd they’d ever played for, and the biggest of the tour so far.

No amount of talent or preparation was spared in making this show a huge success. Everyone was in sync, having fun and playing faithfully to the audience dying to hear old favorites and new tracks. As they encouraged the fans to share a “Toast,” the end of the set brought cheers and chants for the band to return for their encore songs. The band obliged, and now San Diego has to wait once again to see their beloved Pond.
