05/31/24 @ Theater Pomona - BY DELANIE FREELAND
Saosin has been around for years, and if you are anything like me (an emo girl who wore sweatshirts in the summer and had your hair in front of your face during high school days) then you know the saga of Saosin.
After a long 14 years of being on hiatus, Saosin announced at the beginning of 2024 that Cove Reber was back with a 20th anniversary US tour.
The Fox Theatre in Pomona was a very intimate set, with tons of fans waiting at the barrier to finally see Cove perform, and he did not disappoint. It got to the point where you couldn’t even hear Cove anymore due to the echoes of the crowd singing their favorite hits from the band.
They played so many great hits but the ones that got the concert hall roaring were Voices, Seven Years, and of course, You’re Not Alone. The band would talk to us in between sets, telling us how excited they were to be back with Cove and how surprised they were to see how much energy their fans had after all these years of us growing older (lol). They were very sentimental and you can just tell how appreciative they were to their Saosin family and fans. Cove was very missed, and you can just tell how excited everyone was to have him back. So many people crowd surfing and jumping up and down, even Cove let out his hands for a number of people to help them over the barrier safely. There was a ton of love in the room and it sounded phenomenal with Cove’s singing, amazing guitar riffs, and banging drums. Everyone left that theatre with a huge smile on their faces as they walked out back to reality.
